Fire pits & outdoor living

A fire pit area planned around how people sit

A good fire pit area is about spacing: enough room for chairs all the way around, a clear path in and out, and a safe distance from the house, deck and trees. We lay it out in 3D first, like the pool-side fire pit patio we built in Cheshire, so you can see how the seating works before we build.

We build fire pits into new patios or add them to existing ones, using Techo-Bloc, Unilock and Cambridge fire pit and wall products that match the patio. Seat walls are built on the same compacted base as the patio and finished with caps that are comfortable to sit on.

Design options

Outdoor living features we build

01

Fire pit patios

A fire pit set into a round or square paver patio, with room for chairs all around.

02

Seat walls

Curved or straight seating walls that wrap a fire pit or patio and add structure to the space.

03

Outdoor kitchens

Grill islands and kitchen counters built in block or stone veneer. We build the masonry; gas and electrical hookups are done by licensed trades.

Techo-Bloc fire features

Fire pit kits and custom fire features

We build fire pits from Techo-Bloc kits or from wall block, set into the patio and matched to its colors.

Valencia fire pit

A round kit with a split, aged texture, about 49 inches across outside and 29 inches inside. Works with compatible wood-burning or gas inserts.

Colors: Shale Grey, Champlain Grey, Chestnut Brown

Built from wall block

Mini-Creta and Raffinato wall systems are also used for fire pits, seat walls and outdoor kitchen structures, following Techo-Bloc’s fire pit details.

Matched to your patio and seat walls

Gas hookups

Gas inserts need a gas line run by a licensed gas contractor. We build the masonry and coordinate the opening for the burner.

Wood or gas, decided at the design stage

Product details are from Techo-Bloc. Colors and sizes can vary by supplier, so we bring current samples to your estimate.

Questions

Fire pit & outdoor kitchen FAQs

Often, yes. We look at the patio’s layout, base and the space around it and recommend whether to set the fire pit into the existing patio or build a new fire pit area beside it.

Rules vary by town and fire marshal, so we check local requirements and keep a safe distance from the house, deck, fences and overhanging trees.

Most fire pits we build are wood-burning. A gas insert can be added; the gas line itself must be run by a licensed gas contractor.
