Front Steps, Side Walkway & Fire Pit Patio in Wallingford, CT
One home, three projects: new front steps and a wide landing, a bordered paver walkway down the side of the house, and a round fire pit patio in the backyard.
The project
What we built
The old entry was a set of narrow concrete steps and a cracked walk. We replaced it with wider steps and a full-width landing, framed by low stone-faced walls and planting beds so the front of the house reads as one piece.
Along the side of the house, a paver walkway with a dark border now runs past a raised planting bed to the back steps. Out back, an open lawn became a circular fire pit patio with a contrasting border ring.
All three were built on an excavated, compacted base, the same way we build every walkway, step and patio.
